The 16-Bit LEGO Super Mario & Yoshi Set Is Available For Pre-Order Now In Australia

I need it.

Update: After a slightly early leak, LEGO has officially announced the Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi set, which launches on October 1st.

The set is priced at $199.99 AUD and pre-orders are live right now in Australia. This set has already proven super popular since it was first revealed, so we’d imagine it’ll be worth chucking some money down sooner than later if you’re keen on having it day one.

You can find it at both the official LEGO online store and authorised LEGO stores locally. There are some links to pre-order below:

Clocking in at 1215 pieces, it’s definitely one of the more striking Nintendo/Mario sets so far, and even features a manual handle that activates a running motion for Yoshi along with a dial behind his head to pop his tongue in and out. Interestingly, the set also has some interaction with the LEGO Mario, LEGO Luigi and LEGO Peach figures via an Action Tag.

Original Story: LEGO and Nintendo fans are really eating good this year, not only getting that upcoming (and pricey) The Legend of Zelda Great Deku Tree set, but now a new retro-inspired Super Mario World set that’s just leaked and been shared over at Jay’s Brick Blog.

The set was revealed ahead of time by an authorised LEGO store in Singapore and is slated for an October 1st release, much like the recently-revealed Shadow the Hedgehog and Fortnite sets.

The set will consist of 1,215 pieces and features a 16-bit Mario riding Yoshi, as seen in the SNES classic Super Mario World. From the pictures available it also looks like there’ll be some interactivity/motion with Yoshi’s tongue extending with what looks like a small manual crank near the base.

We don’t yet have local pricing info for this set yet, but it’ll retail for $209.90 SGD which is around $240 now confirmed at $199.99 AUD!
