Originally due to launch on October 24th this year, NACON Studio Milan’s upcoming open-world survival game, Terminator: Survivors, has been pushed back to an undetermined date in 2025.
The game’s delay comes as the development team has identified that it needs more time to ensure the game lives up to the iconic franchise it’s based on, and meets the expectations of players in a popular and crowded genre. On social media, the studio posted a message reading:
“Dear Survivors,
“We are working very hard to bring the post-apocalyptic world of Terminator™ to life. Our goal is to create a deep immersive experience where each decision you make is crucial to your surviving.
“Over the past few months, we’ve been really impressed by your enthusiasm and amazed by the response to our announcements, and we know how eagerly fans are awaiting Terminator: Survivors. To realize our vision, and to make sure to deliver the game that fits your expectations, we need some additional time. Thus, we will be pushing the launch to 2025.
“We know that this will be a disappointment to many, but we want to do right by this universe, its fans, and our community. In the long term we believe this is the right call.
“We are grateful for your understanding and support.
“We’ll be back.”

“This deferral of the game’s release was a tough decision to make, however we believe that this additional time will enable us to ensure that our vision of the post-apocalyptic world of Terminator meets the expected level of quality,” said NACON Studio Milan’s CEO and creative director, Marco Ponte, in a press release.
“On behalf of the NACON Studio Milan team, I would like to thank all the players and fans of the franchise for their enthusiastic reception of Terminator: Survivors. We are extremely proud to have this opportunity to work on such an iconic franchise as Terminator, and are eager to reveal more of it to you. Thank you all for support… We’ll be back.”
Terminator: Survivors is set to be an open-world survival game with an original story taking place after the first two Terminator films. In it, players will embody a group of Judgment Day survivors either solo or with up to three friends, while being hunted by Skynet’s machines, squaring off against other humans in the fight for resources and generally just trying to survive in the post-robopocalyptic world. Players will have a home base to protect and advance as they discover key materials and other survivors in the world, using a mix of combat and stealth when faced with enemies – especially the indestructible and constantly hunting Terminator.
