A new year means new cardboard goodness for Disney Lorcana fans, with the next set ‘Winterspell’ releasing in Australia in just a couple of weeks! On February 13th 2026, Aussie Lorcana collectors and players will get a whole batch of new cards to delve into and chase, with Winterspell’s theme centring around…well…winter! It’s a bit of a polar opposite for us here down under, however a very welcomed cool, refreshing breeze with new mechanics, illustrations and a return to some traditional board wipes!
With that, we are excited to announce that we have an exclusive Winterspell card reveal to show you…so here we go:
Blue Smoke is a new Sapphire Item card coming to Winterspell. As a common rarity, 1 ink cost, uninkable – this card will sure be one you see popping up a bit whilst ripping upon some packs. As for its mechanics, the card has two abilities available – ‘Theatrical Entrance’, which states “If you have a character named Darkwing Duck in play, you pay 1 less ink to play this item; and ‘Cloud of Mystery’, which a player must pay the cost of exerting Blue Smoke, paying 1 ink and then banishing this card, allowing them to then choose a character to receive the Ward ability until the start of their next turn. Not too bad at all! A potential free to play card when synergised with Darkwing Duck and the ability to give one of your characters Ward – protecting them from any chosen action or ability – is nice to have!
The illustrations for Blue Smoke has been created by artist, Hana Augustine, depicting the mysterious silhouette of everyone’s favourite caped Duck hero engulfed in his signature blue smoke screen.
As always we are very keen to jump into this next set, and cannot wait for Winterspell’s launch on February 13th. The Oceania portion of the Disney Lorcana Challenge is also nearly here, with the event taking place on February 21-22 in Melbourne at Marvel Stadium – so if you’re keen to attend as a competitor or as an attendee, be sure to grab your tickets now from TAK Games.
