Nintendo saved one major announcement for Nintendo Treehouse at E3.
It is now confirmed that they’re bringing back 2D Metroid. It’s coming in the form of Metroid: Samus Returns which is basically a remake of Metroid II with improved graphics and controls.
The good news is that it’s coming in September, but the (arguably) bad news is that it’s only on Nintendo 3DS, so you’ll need to dig that from out of your drawer.
This is a fantastic announcement. We’ve waited years and years for a proper Metroid game and now we’ve got two in one day.
