In their much anticipated Nintendo Direct Mini, Nintendo have today announced that Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze will be coming to the Nintendo Switch. The game features pretty much everything that you’d expect it to feature, being an almost direct port from the Wii U version, but with one cool addition.
Funky Kong will be joining Donkey, Diddy, Dixie and Cranky Kong as a playable character. Funky has a lot more abilities than his contemporaries, with double jumps and infinite rolls and swimming propulsion which’ll definitely take the edge off some of the more difficult moments of Tropical Freeze.
As you’d expect, the game support co-op play using two joy-con separately as well.
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is expected to hit the Nintendo Switch in the states on May 4th. We’ll have local release details for you when they come.
