An Early Super Mario Party Nintendo Switch Cartridge Just Sold For $9,795 On Ebay

You read that right. Over on eBay, someone has sold an unreleased Super Mario Party cartridge for $9,795 AUD. The listing claimed the seller found the cartridge in an airport and attached video and images of them playing the game, and holding the cartridge in their hand.

Watching the final stages of the auction, I saw the bidding rise from $6,829 to the final price of $9,795. They might, of course, be fraudulent bids, as it often the case on eBay, but to think someone might have paid so much for a game that’s out next week is pretty crazy. I can’t imagine Nintendo would’ve been too happy about all this as well.
