Bowser's Fury

We Still Don’t Know What Bowser’s Fury Is But It Has Giant Cat Mario And Bowser

Nintendo promised us a longer look at Bowser’s Fury, the expansion to Super Mario 3D World that will release alongside the Nintendo Switch version next month.

They delivered, but if I’m being honest, the two minute trailer didn’t reveal a lot of information, but it definitely looks great.

The trailer showed off an extremely large level that wasn’t in the original game, before Bowser appeared and turned it into a nightmare land. The rest of the trailer focused on Mario trying to get away from the mega Bowser before eventually finding his way to him.

He quickly transported into a giant Cat Mario in what resembled an epic Pokemon battle, but we still don’t really know what the mode is. If I were guessing, I’d say it’s a giant level that’s constantly ever changing and might see Mario powering up before facing Bowser. I’m not quite sure it’ll be procedurally generated, but that’d be a pretty big step for the Mario franchise that I’d personally love to see.

It looks like Mario is working with Bowser Jnr, which is super interesting and it also looks like enemies have been turned into cats (or something along those lines).

What is clear at this point though is the fact that this is going to be a hefty addition to an already fantastic game, so I’m definitely intrigued to see how it plays out.

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury is out on February 12th.
