It’s finally been announced.
Nintendo has confirmed that a new Nintendo Switch called the Nintendo Switch OLED Model will release later this year. It’s releasing on October 7th and it’ll have a 7-inch OLED screen, a wide adjustable stand, a wired LAN port and more.
At launch, it’ll come in a blue/red neon model as well as a brand new white addition. Both models have 64GB of in-built storage.
The Australian price has now been confirmed. It’ll set you back $539.95 AUD in Australia. This is about $80 more expensive than what the original Switch launched for.
It seems as though former rumours about the console weren’t true. Nintendo says that the console will still output at 1080p in TV mode and 720p in handheld mode, with the battery to come in at roughly the same as the V2 Nintendo Switch. We won’t know if there’s other performance enhancements until either Nintendo talks about them or we can get our hands on the console ourselves.
