All The Confirmed Nintendo 64 And Sega Genesis Games Coming To Nintendo Switch Online

During this morning’s Nintendo Direct, Nintendo confirmed that the rumours that suggested Nintendo 64 games would be coming to Nintendo Switch Online were indeed true. Not only that, but they’re also bringing a handful of Sega Genesis games to the service.

Of course, the downside is that these games will be part of an “Expansion Pack” to your existing Nintendo Switch Online membership plan, but we’re still awaiting pricing in general.

The games confirmed for launch are:

  • Super Mario 64
  • Mario Kart 64
  • Lylat Wars
  • Yoshi’s Story
  • The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
  • Dr. Mario 64
  • Mario Tennis
  • Operation Winback
  • Sin and Punishment

Coming to the service in the months post-launch include:

  • The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask
  • Pokemon Snap
  • Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards
  • Mario Golf
  • Paper Mario
  • F-Zero X
  • Banjo-Kazooie

In addition to these Nintendo games, they also announced that a selection of Sega Genesis titles would also surprisingly be making their way onto the service. These games include:

  • Golden Axe
  • Strider
  • M.U.S.H.A.
  • Shining Force
  • Sonic the Hedgehog 2
  • Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine
  • Streets of Rage 2
  • Shinobi III
  • Ecco the Dolphin
  • Gunstar Heroes
  • Phantasy Star IV
  • Castlevania: Bloodlines
  • Contra: Hard Corps
  • Ristar

As said, we’re waiting on local pricing on this “Expansion Pack” so expect updates on that in the near future as the service nears its October launch.

No doubt, more games will also be coming into the future, but we know based on the NES and Super Nintendo drops that Nintendo seems to drop one or two games a month once that first drop of games have landed, so no doubt it’ll be a slow burn of games. We also know that true-to-scale Nintendo 64 and SEGA Genesis controllers are also coming. They’ll be $49.99 USD but we don’t have a local price for these yet, so we’ll let you know once we do.
