The Super Mario Bros Movie Has Been Delayed

Sad Chris Pratt Is Sad

Nintendo and Illumination Studios have announced that the new animated Super Mario movie starring the likes of Chris Pratt, Seth Rogen and Charlie Day has been delayed. It will now release on April 7th instead of later this year.

The full statement from Nintendo is below:

This is Miyamoto. After consulting with Chris-san, my partner at Illumination on the Super Mario Bros. film, we decided to move the global release to Spring 2023–April 28 in Japan and April 7 in North America. My deepest apologies but I promise it will be well worth the wait.

We still don’t know a lot about the movie, but we do know that it will feature the below talent: Chris Pratt as Mario himself, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Jack Black (who’s already appearing in the Borderlands film directed by Eli Roth) as Bowser.
