This morning, Nintendo streamed its promised Direct presentation for the new CG animated Super Mario Bros. Movie, giving us an introduction to the film from Shigeru Miyamoto, Chris Meledandri and some members of the cast, as well as our first look at the film in its debut trailer.
The gorgeous two-minute long teaser gives us a short glimpse of just a few key characters including Bowser, Kamek, Mario, Toad, and Luigi as well as iconic locations like the Mushroom Kingdom. And yes, fans finally get to hear the likes of Chris Pratt as Mario and Jack Black as Bowser and honestly – Mario just sounds like Pratt.

As previously announced, the film is being produced in collaboration between Shigeru Miyamoto/Nintendo and Chris Meledandri/Illumination and will feature a star-studded cast including Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, Jack Black, Charlie Day, Seth Rogen, Keegan-Michael Key and Charles Martinet.
We currently still do not have a release date for the film.
