This Fan Video Shows That Pokémon Scarlet And Violet Would Be Much Better With Voice Acting

Fingers crossed for the next entry!

YouTuber Dr. Bonehead and a crew of voice-over actors have teamed together to create a five-minute video showcasing what the just-released Pokémon Scarlet and Violet would be like if their cutscenes had voice acting.

Predictably, it’s a clear improvement over the awkwardly silent character interactions that have been a persistent holdover from the mainline entries’ days on more primitive hardware.

The video shows some pivotal scenes from the games featuring important characters like Nemona, Arven and Clavell with some pretty on-point vocal depictions from a range of actors (credits are in the video’s description on YouTube if you’d like to check them out). You can watch it below, but be warned there are some story spoilers in the mix:

Dubbing a game this size would obviously be a pretty involved undertaking, but far from impossible in comparison to games like Xenoblade Chronicles 3 or out of the means of Game Freak and Nintendo given the absolute dosh the franchise rakes in.

We gave Pokémon Scarlet/Violet a 7.5/10 in our review, saying “New ideas, some quality of life improvements, and some excellent new Pokémon designs make the trip to Paldea worthwhile.”

You can pick the games up for yourself from Amazon for $68 with free shipping.
