The Nintendo Switch 2 has finally officially been revealed and during the the reveal trailer, titled ‘An update from Nintendo’, a potentially new Mario Kart game features in the trailer.
Only a couple of shots of the game appear in the video, starting on the grid of a track called “Mario Bros. Circuit” before the newly revealed Switch 2 console is placed in the dock.
As the racers line up, you can see “Fire Flower Gas Station” on the left, another new landmark.
This may be yet more added content to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe — and given the Switch 2 is confirmed to be backwards compatible it’s entirely possible — but given it’s been years since a new release it surely would be time.
Watch the reveal trailer for yourself to see the Mario Kart tease yourself!
We’ll likely learn more about the game at a special Nintendo Switch 2 Direct in April, and maybe get a chance to play it at the upcoming hands-on events (including one in Melbourne).
