Nintendo has clarified which games won’t be entirely backwards compatible on the Nintendo Switch. There’s some likely culprits we expected, but a few surprising games that won’t start up, or might start up with issues including.
Nintendo says that these lists will be updated again later this month, but at the time of writing, there’s 141 games not working including big hitters such a Doom: Eternal and NBA 2K25 and 50 with issues such as Alan Wake Remastered, Fall Guys and Aliens Isolation.

Obviously, there’s a number of games that will require OG Joy-Con controllers to play including the likes of 1-2 Switch, Ring Fit Adventure and the variety of LABO releases.
