Nintendo’s latest earnings report has been released and the most interesting fact is its forecast for Nintendo Switch 2 sales.
The company expects to sell 15 million Nintendo Switch 2 units and 45 million games by March 2026. This would outperform the original Nintendo Switch sales by a few million (and it released 3 months earlier a s well) and make it the best selling console within its first fiscal year on sale.
It would also be well ahead of both the PS4 and PS5 in their first fiscal year, although they both released a lot later in the year and the PS5 had severe stock restraints.
The Nintendo Switch continues to sell well almost beating the Nintendo DS and closing in on the PS2, and as far as games go, Super Mario Jamboree reached 7 million units, Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom sold 3.7 million units and Donkey Kong Country HD Returns, Luigi’s Mansion 2 and Paper Mario all reached above 1 million units.
