Nintendo has randomly given Donkey Kong Country Returns HD a free update which adds new content as well as Switch 2 enhancements.
The major content update is the addition of Dixie Kong as a playable character which allows Donkey Kong to get higher and travel a further distance and you can now pick between Dixie and Diddy when you approach a barrel in each level.
There’s also a brand new Turbo Mode which will make Donkey Kong and surrounding enemies al move at higher speeds and you will get a gold or silver medal depending on your clear time.
For those playing on Nintendo Switch 2, the game will now display at 4K on TVs or at a higher resolution in handheld mode as well and there’s shorter load times now too. For those that want to play with others, you can GameShare using just one game locally.
