Amnesia: Rebirth Is A Brand New Amnesia Game Set To Scare You

Earlier today, Frictional Games announced a follow-up to their hit horror Amnesia: The Dark Descent releasing sometime in Spring later this year. You can watch the announcement trailer below:

Set in the desolate landscape of the Algerian desert, the game will introduce a new protagonist named Tasi Trianon. Gather fragments of Tasi’s shattered past as she sets out on a harrowing journey through devastation and despair, personal terror and pain.

“You can’t let out a breath. The creature is only inches away. Its sole purpose – to feed off your terror. And so you crouch in the dark, trying to stop the fear rising, trying to silence what lies within you.”

Retracing her steps is Tasi’s only chance to survive the pitiless horror that threatens to devour her, racing the clock while exploring the limits of human resilience.

It has been almost a decade since the launch of the first Amnesia title, The Dark Descent. This first-person survival horror, made by the developer responsible for the Penumbra series and sci-fi heavy SOMA, is critically acclaimed and remains one of the most immersive and psychologically taxing gaming experiences in recent memory. In 2013, the first addition to the series, Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, written and developed by The Chinese Room and published by Frictional was released. The gameplay of this installment was quite different from that of the Dark Descent, it was much shorter and the narrative and the in-game world remained largely separate from that of the previous title. Amnesia: Rebirth will be Frictional’s first release since 2015s SOMA and represents another evolutionary leap for the developer who promises unimaginable terror in their new descent into darkness.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent, Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs are available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch as a part of the Amnesia Collection. To celebrate the announcement of their new title, Frictional Games is also having a huge Steam sale with all of their titles discounted to a whopping 90% off right here.

Amnesia Rebirth is expected to launch later this year on PlayStation 4 and PC.
