Everything Announced At Today’s BlizzCon Opening Conference

Blizzcon looked a little different this year, taking its normal large scale event online for the first time. The opening conference had a few big announcements, but probably not as many as in previous years. It’s worth mentioning that there will be panels happening all weekend, so we expected to get some new Overwatch 2 news and tidbits from the below games.

DIABLO 2 RESURRECTED IS A DIABLO 2 REMASTER

It’s been rumoured for some time and it’s true. Diablo 2: Resurrected is a full remaster of the 2000 game with brand new visuals (but the ability to switch to the old ones). It’s coming to PS5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One and PC later this year.

THE ROGUE CLASS BACK IN DIABLO 4

We got our first look at the newly unveiled rogue class in Diablo 4 as well as four minutes of brand new gameplay from the game. Still no release date, but it’s not expected until 2022 at the earliest.

BLIZZARD ARCADE COLLECTION IS OUT TODAY

A collection including three classic Blizzard games is out today on Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One and PC. The games include The Lost Vikings, Rock N Roll Racing and Blackthorne complete with new graphics and new features as well as a bunch of nostalgic goodies to help you reminisce about Blizzard.

BURNING CRUSADE CLASSIC IS COMING TO WORLD OF WARCRAFT

Blizzard revealed that Burning Crusade Classic would release later this year and it’s a faithful recreation of the first World of Warcraft expansion. This will come at no further cost to your WOW subscription. World Of Warcraft: Shadowlands is getting also its first major content update later this year and it’s called Chains of Domination. This will include new pets for you to mess around with.

HEARTHSTONE IS GETTING A NEW EXPANSION

It was confirmed that the big Hearthstone expansion for 2021 is called Forged in the Barrens, which is inspired by the classic World of Warcraft location. Hearthstone Mercenaries will also release later this year. It’s a single-player and competitive game mode in which players will collect characters from the Warcraft universe and level them up.
