AFL 23 Will Include Pro Team According To Its New Launch Trailer

It’s more than a game!

Big Ant Studios’ upcoming return to the AFL video game space, AFL 23, just got a launch trailer that reveals a whole heap of exciting features.

Along with the expected inclusions, such as the presence of every active AFL and AFLW league team, this iteration will be the first to include Pro Team. Although details are scarce at this stage, the trailer suggests that Pro Team might be the AFL equivalent of Ultimate Team, a card-based, team-building money printing machine that all of the latest FIFA games were built around.

The trailer itself gives us a glimpse at a few player’s ratings, including Richmond ruckman Toby Nankervis at 88 and Melbourne’s premier defender Steven May commanding a 90.

Of all of the fan requested modes, Pro Team is certainly the most sought after and to see it integrated is exciting.

The trailer also shows off a lot of the game’s other cool inclusions, including quarter-time briefs by coaches like Alastair Clarkson and familiar celebrations from Charlie Cameron’s motorcycle to Duursma’s rock star bow and arrow routine.

Following its brief delay due to a printing hold up for physical copies on Xbox, AFL 23 will launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC on May 4th, 2023.
