You Can Now Gift Free PC Game Pass Trials To Your Friends

Friends with benefits.

Xbox really wants people to get around PC Game Pass, and the latest in its efforts to have every person and their grandparents signed up to the service is a new feature called the Xbox Game Pass Friend Referral. Really rolls off the ol’ tongue.

What this newfangled button located right on the Game Pass home screen, titled “Give PC Game Pass”, does is allows anyone subscribed to either Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass to gift up to five of their friends a 14-day PC Game Pass free trial. Doing so will give them two weeks of access to everything that PC Game Pass has to offer, including A Play and all the new bits and bobs for games like League of Legends and Valorant that come with linking a Riot account to your Game Pass subscription.

The usual catch does apply here, where anyone hoping to take advantage of the free offer will need to be a brand-new customer to Game Pass – no cheeky stacking of free weeks for you! Still, it’s a decent way to get your friends to jump in and try some first-party exclusives or jump into that game of Redfall with you without them having to fork over a cent for at least 14 days.

Speaking of Redfall, that’s first cab off the rank for May’s Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass lineup, bringing Arkane’s open world, co-op vampire shooter to as many consoles and PCs as possible. There’s also some great smaller titles like Ravenlok and Weird West headed to the subscription in the first half of May, so make sure you check out the list and start planning your time accordingly.
