Mass Effect: Andromeda Is Definitely Not An Open-World Game

Last year, there was some speculation that Mass: Effect Andromeda would be an open-world game.

Senior Producer, Michael Gamble has said in a new interview with Xbox Magazine that whilst it’s not completely linear, it’s definitely not open-world.

“I definitely wouldn’t call Andromeda an open-world game. We like to use the term exploration-based game.” said Gamble.

It definitely sounds like it’s similar to the previous titles in the Mass Effect games with an added layer of exploration.

From what he is explaining, it sounds like it could be similar to Uncharted 4, which is a structured experience but does open up to explore in certain instances. I’m actually glad that Mass Effect won’t be going true open-world.

Mass Effect Andromeda launches on March 21st for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
