There’s a reason why Chris Redfield looks so different in Resident Evil 7.
Resident Evil 7 Director Koushi Nakanishi has explained that the team went with a more “photo realistic depiction” of characters. Because of this, Chris Redfield looks much skinner in the upcoming Not A Hero DLC.
Basically, the Director believed that if they kept Chris Redfield looking the same as other games, that it would be unrealistic in comparison to other characters in Resident Evil 7, who are much more realistic in body shape and features.
Fans speculated that Chris Redfield may have been a different character in Resident Evil 7, as he resembled a character called “Hunk” who was in Resident Evil 2 and 3, but Nakanishi shot this down stating that it was definitely Redfield.
Chris Redfield’s character will be fleshed out in the ‘Not a Hero’ DLC which will be releasing later this year.
