PlayStation Is Looking For Gamers To Test PS4 Software Update 5.00

It’s almost time for PlayStation to reveal the next major software update to PlayStation 4, with the company today opening up beta registrations for what appears to be 5.00

System update 4.50 released in February of this year and it was the last time that Sony requested beta testers for a system update. This update gave us external HDD support, Boost Mode, Custom wallpaper support and some other awesome stuff.

Sony is suggesting that you can register to be a tester anytime between today and the start of the beta in August. This probably means that it will release in September for the public, but we should be hearing more about it soon.

PlayStation’s official statement says:

We’re getting ready for the next major system update for PS4, and can use some help from PS4 owners to test it out ahead of launch. Starting today, you can sign up for a chance to be a beta tester and get an advance look at some of the improvements and new features coming to PS4.
