Digital Foundry who know how to technically pull apart games like no other and they’ve called the upcoming Shadow of the Colossus remake.
Bluepoint are known for their work on remastering PlayStation games. Digital Foundry compared their work on the Uncharted Trilogy, Gravity Rush, Metal Gear Solid 2 to SOTC but they’ve stated that their work here is different to all of these titles as Shadow of the Colossus has been recreated from the ground up for PlayStation 4.
“Everything from the richly detailed valley walls to the gorgeous stone work of the central temple has been completely reworked. This is one of the riskiest parts of the project, however, as recreating the environments of such a classic experience could have impacted the atmosphere the development team worked so hard to create.” said Digital Foundry.
They also go on to say that the the lighting changes as well as a brand new foliage system have taken the game to another level. The sky is apparently also a lot more realistic looking, especially with HDR.
