The Next Battlefield Game Is Apparently Set In WW2 And Called Battlefield V

After the success of Call Of Duty: WWII, VentureBeast is reporting that Battlefield will once again capitalise on the World War II setting.

The game is said to be a brand new Battlefield game and not a remaster of Battlefield 2 (from 2005) called Battlefield V. Apparently, EA’s strategy was always to take Battlefield back to WWI (with Battlefield 1) before continuing on with Battlefield V if it turned out to be successful (we know that it was).

Internally, it was rumoured that the game was originally called Battlefield 2, but it’s now been changed to Battlefield V to avoid confusion with the previous Battlefield game with the same title.

It was previously thought that Battlefield Bad Company would be the next Battlefield game in the series to release, but this is apparently the next Battlefield game due for release in 2020.

Thanks, VentureBeat.
