Bethesda announced at their presser earlier today that Fallout 76 would be a fully online game complete with dedicated servers.
Obviously, with this being one of the first major pushes into the online space for Bethesda Game Studios, they also announced that they’d be doing an online beta (or as they called it, a ‘Break-it Early Test Application’.
Bethesda stated that they were running this in order to make sure that as many bugs (both online and just general game engine) are fixed up prior to launch on November 14th.
Currently, it appears that the only way (or at least the best way) to guarantee access to the beta, will be by preordering the game.

Bethesda’s site states:
“Pre-ordering Fallout 76 is the only way to get access to the B.E.T.A. Visit fallout.bethesda.net/buy-now to pre-order the game from your preferred participating retailer or digital platform,” the Bethesda website confirms.
“The B.E.T.A. will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and on PC (via Bethesda.net). Stay tuned for exact timing for each platform here and @Fallout on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Please note that the B.E.T.A. for Xbox One will begin first, followed by other platforms.”
It’s unclear at this point when the beta will take place, but one can only assume it’ll be in the next few months in order to help the team make changes before launch.
Locally, EB Games has also stated that pre-ordering will allow gamers to get early access with the beta.
