Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Lets You Change Between Male/Female Eivor At Any Time

Assassin’s Creed: Origins made you play as Bayek at the start of the game, Odyssey let you play as Kassandra or Alexios, but Assassin’s Creed Valhalla handles things differently.

You can play as Eivor in male/female form and whilst you’ll choose one from the start, you can easily change between male and female as the game goes on through the pause menu. It’s a completely different way of handling the choice of sex from any other Assassin’s Creed game in the past.

When asking Senior Producer, Damien Leyris about which if either male or female Eivor were canon he said said “if you remove the physical aspect of it, we shaped the game, experience and narrative around who Eivor is and we wanted to give the player the choice of playing as Eivor as either a male or a female, but we shaped the narrative around who the character is and all the choices and events that happen to you as a player will be reflected in those moments”.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla launches on November 17th for Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC. It will also launch on Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X later in 2020.
