Sony has dropped PS4 system update 7.55 earlier today, and shortly after the PlayStation Network was facing issues around the world. It now seems to be easing up.
The update weighs in at about 470mb and improves system performance. It doesn’t seem to add anything else on top of this.
PS4 System Update 8.00 is currently in beta testing, and is due to release shortly, but it doesn’t add any major features.
