Overwatch Is Temporarily Free To Play On Nintendo Switch And It Has A New Halloween Event

Overwatch is getting deadly serious about their in-game event for Halloween 2020 by introducing a bunch of frightfully cool cosmetics and themed challenges. Overwatch Halloween Terror is now live on PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch, so you can jump into the holiday exclusive game mode and earn new, limited-time rewards right away.

JUNKENSTEIN’S REVENGE – CHALLENGE MISSIONS

This year, Junkenstein’s Revenge will release two challenge missions per week, for a total of six.

  • Week 1: Vengeful Ghost, Frenzied Stampede
    A deadly ghost chases players
    Zomnics move faster
  • Week 2: Volatile Zomnics, Three They Were
    Zomnics explode near players
    Only three players but they deal more damage
  • Week 3: Mystery Swap, Shocking Surprise
    Heroes periodically randomised
    Some enemies spawn Shock-Tires on death

Baptiste (The Renegade) and Ashe (The Outlaw) have also been added to Junkenstein’s Revenge.

In addition to Junkenstein’s Revenge, you can also complete weekly challenges in Quick Play, Competitive Play, or the Arcade for limited-time sprays, player icons, and an epic skin on top of standard earnings normally received for playing Overwatch.

There are five new Epic skins to earn during the event; Karasu-Tengu GenjiDai-Tengu HanzoWerewolf WinstonFlying Dutchman SigmaShin-Ryeong D.Va. You can start hunting for them today through to the end of the event on November 4th, AEDT.

To celebrate the one-year anniversary of Overwatch on the Nintendo Switch, Blizzard is also offering 50% off of the Legendary Edition of Overwatch until October 25th and a free trial on Switch until the 20th.
