One of the biggest things about owning a new console (at least for me) is how it’s going to fit into my entertainment unit. It’s probably never been harder figuring it all out with the size and colours of the PS5 and Xbox Series X.
For reference, the sizes of the PS5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S in the horizontal position are below:
- PS5: 390 (W) x 110 (H) x 260mm (D)
- Xbox Series X: 301 (W) x 151 (H) x 151mm (D)
- Xbox Series S: 275 (W) x 65 (H) x 151mm (D)
Also for reference, my entertainment unit is the VITTSJO from IKEA (two of them put together). The dimensions of each compartment are: 407 (W) x 190 (H) x 360mm (D). For scale, I’ve got a 65″ TV.
Hopefully this helps you in working out where you’re going to put each console, in which orientation and if you’ll need a new entertainment unit. Microsoft and Sony both say that the consoles are designed to provide adequate airflow in both orientations, so there shouldn’t be a problem there.
