In an announcement that nobody saw coming, Bethesda announced this morning that a brand new Indiana Jones game with an original story is in development by Machine Games in partnership with the newly created Lucasfilm Games. The game’s Executive Producer is Todd Howard who is best known for his work on the Fallout and Elder Scrolls games.
A new Indiana Jones game with an original story is in development from our studio, @MachineGames, and will be executive produced by Todd Howard, in collaboration with @LucasfilmGames. It'll be some time before we have more to reveal, but we’re very excited to share today’s news!

The news was posted on both Bethesda’s and Machine Games Twitter account with the later saying:
“We’re developing a new Indiana Jones video game! As huge fans of the franchise, it’s a tremendous honor for us to create a brand-new Indiana Jones game with a completely original story. We’re very excited and can’t wait to share more in the future!”
Machine Games have worked on each of the Wolfenstein games since 2014, so this would likely be a bit of a shift for them. It’s likely that the game is in pre-development and still a long way off, but this is extremely exciting news nonetheless.
