Overnight, Sony has announced the long-awaited release date and editions for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. It’s releasing on June 11th exclusively for PS5.
Marcus Smith, Creative Director at Insomniac took to Playstation Blog to reassure fans that the game is coming along nicely to be the “showpiece game” for your Playstation 5.
On the game itself, Marcus said:
“Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is a brand-new full-length adventure. When the evil Dr. Nefarious uses a device that can access alternate dimensions to find a galaxy where he always wins, Ratchet and Clank are separated. As they try to re-unite, they will meet a new Lombax resistance fighter, explore new and familiar locales (but with new dimensional twists!), and wield a whole new arsenal of out of this world weapons.”
You can check out the release date trailer below, which reveals the official release date to be June 11th 2021.
A slew of goodies are available for fans who preorder too, including Carbonox armour from Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando as well as the Pixelizer, a retro-blaster that appeared in the 2016 remake of Ratchet & Clank.
A digital deluxe version was also announced, which comes with armours, upgrade points, photo mode goodies as well as a digital art book and soundtrack.
Even though she’s featured all over the new key art, don’t expect a name for the female Lombax just yet. On the mysterious new character’s name, Marcus Smith teased
“And yes, we know you are asking for the new Lombax’s name. And it’s not fair that we put her in the art-work and aren’t telling you yet. Hang in there, you’ll be feeling rosy soon.”
I’m still gunning for Ratchette but it’s probably going to be Rose or Rosie or something isn’t it.
