The Witcher 3 And Cyberpunk 2077’s New-Gen Updates Are On Track To Release By Their Revised Dates

CD Projekt, publisher and developer of Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3, recently published its earnings report for Q3 2021. In the report, it provided updates on development and ongoing support for both its celebrated open world fantasy epic and beleaguered sci-fi RPG.

As part of this, it reiterated that the new-gen updates for both games are currently still “on track” to meet their target release windows of Q1 2022 for Cyberpunk 2077 and Q2 2022 for The Witcher 3. Both were previously delayed from their original 2021 release windows, and the company has yet to detail in full just what advantages these PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of each game will have over their current console SKUs (though extras such as ray tracing and fast load times have been mentioned for The Witcher 3).

CD Projekt also says that the release of Cyberpunk 2077 on the newer platforms will be accompanied by a “major update” for all platforms, and that work is still underway on the game’s first paid expansion.

The company posted a reduction in profits for the quarter but cites ongoing development for its existing titles, a lack of major new releases and R&D for new projects as the reason for this. You can watch a breakdown of the report (with English subtitles) in the video below:
