Featuring in Uniqlo’s free-in-store magazine to talk about the Final Fantasy clothing collaboration, which is landing on our shores in June, the series’ producer Naoki Yoshida claims that the upcoming Final Fantasy XVI has entered the “final stretch” of its development.

As transcribed by Gematsu, Yoshida’s words should signal hope for fans of the franchise who have been patiently awaiting news since the game’s delay four months ago.

“Currently, development on the latest title, Final Fantasy XVI, is in the final stretch,” Yoshida said. “As a single-player game, Final Fantasy XVI aims to unify the story and gameplay experience.”

Final Fantasy XVI is currently in development for PlayStation 5.
