Borderlands 4’s Release Date Just Moved Forward And A PlayStation State Of Play Is Happening Tomorrow

Big Borderlands Day!

It’s been revealed that Borderlands 4 is no longer releasing on September 23rd and now has a release date of September 12th.

The team posted the news on social media, with Randy Pitchford also chiming it. This is due to the game being ahead of production and play-testing going well.

“After careful consideration – along with a LOT of meetings, playtesting and incredible development work we have the monumental decision to move up the launch date of Borderlands 4”

People were quick to start speculating that the game was moving forward to make room for Grand Theft Auto 6, with both games coming from the same head company, but Pitchford took to X to confirm this was not the case.

“Our decision is literally 0% about any other product’s actual or theoretical launch date.” said Pitchford.

A Borderlands 4 PlayStation State of Play was also announced and will feature 20 minutes of new weapons, abilities, missions and more. It’s taking place this Thursday, May 1st.
