At this morning’s Summer Games Fest, Focus Entertainment unveiled a new game set within the Alien universe, called Aliens: Dark Descent.
Although the bulk of the trailer was cinematic and served to establish tone and minor plot points, the end of the trailer gave us a slice of what to expect from the gameplay. Unlike the last game in the franchise Aliens: Fireteam Elite, which played more like a traditional third-person shooter, Aliens: Dark Descent looks to play more like an isometric twin-stick shooter with a big focus on co-op play.
The game, at least according to the splash screen, is set to be developed by Tindalos Interactive and will be released next year for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.
