Disney Dreamlight Valley, the life-sim-meets-adventure-game set in a magical world filled with iconic Disney characters, is finally available on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and PC.
There’s a catch though – while the finished game is set to launch in 2023 as a free-to-play product, this release is an ‘Early Access’ version that can only be accessed by purchasing one of the three Founder’s Pack editions of the game. These editions are priced between $45 and $105 depending on how much extra content and in-game currency you’re interested in receiving, alongside getting you in on the ground floor of the game’s release schedule. Developer Gameloft says it’ll be at minimum a six month wait for the final version of the game, so it’s still a ways off.

The base Founder’s Pack edition of the game is also included with Xbox Game Pass.
As far as what the Early Access version of the game entails, the official description reads:
“In the full version, the game will feature the complete main story. We will be announcing specifics about the launch characters in the future, which include memorable characters from Mickey & Friends, Disney’s The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, and Moana, Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story, WALL•E, and more.
The team has a plan for regular content updates and is dedicated to making sure the game grows and evolves; we also have special content designed for real-world Disney and Pixar events, such as movie releases.
At the launch of Early Access, the game will offer gamers a single-player experience, in addition to a few online features to allow players to share in-game content on real-world social network sites. We are committed to creating a game that is reactive to the needs and wants of the players, evolving over the life of the game. For now, the game features an ability to take selfies with Disney- and Pixar-inspired characters and easily share them on real-world social network sites. We are looking forward to sharing more info once we are closer to both Early Access and the game’s official launch.”
