It’s been rumoured for months, but Konami has announced that Silent Hill 2 Remake is officially on the way for PS5/PC and will be a timed exclusive for 12 months before it comes to other platforms.
The game is in development by Bloober Team (The Medium/Layers of Fear) and we get our first look at gameplay in a reveal trailer below.
It’s said that original devs such as monster designer Masahiro Ito as well as composer Akira Yamaoka are both involved with the project. The game will have a new over the shoulder camera and modernised gameplay including a brand new combat system and set pieces.
The game will be running on Unreal Engine 5 and will take advantage of PS5 features such as 3D Audio and DualSense support.
There’s no Silent Hill 2 Remake release date just yet, but at least we know it’s coming now and we’ll keep you posted when we have more information.
