PlayStation Could Be Announcing New Third Party Content Soon

The Snitch is back!

Everyone’s favourite industry leaker, The Snitch, has come out of hiding to drop a new bombshell on their public Discord.

As reported by Insider Gaming, the notorious leaker who once ran the @insider_wtf account on Twitter and outed some pretty major announcements early such as Horizon Forbidden West’s Burning Shores expansion and Final Fantasy XVI’s release date, has popped back up with the news that some kind of announcement on new third-party content is impending. While we aren’t prone to reporting on every new and unsubstantiated leak or rumour, The Snitch has been a consistently reliable leaker thus far, lending this some serious credence.

The Snitch claims a “reliable source” has informed them that PlayStation is about to announce “3rd party stuff” very soon, which could mean many things but an easy guess would be a new State of Play presentation. With plenty of future titles both PlayStation-exclusive and otherwise still in limbo as far as release dates go, and rumours continuing to swirl around games like the oft-rumoured Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake, it could be quite the show if and when it happens.

The last showcase from PlayStation was a State of Play in September last year that featured a combination of first and third party titles including God of War Ragnarok, Tekken 8 and Like A Dragon: Ishin.

Meanwhile, Xbox is holding its own presentation very soon with the Xbox & Bethesda Developer Direct on January 26th.
