It’s been a hot minute since we heard anything about Crash Team Rumble, which was announced back at The Game Awards 2022. Now, Activision and Toys For Bob have finally lifted the lid on the game’s release date, as well as a bunch of other juicy info.
Let’s start with the most important news though – Crash Team Rumble is bringing its 4v4 multiplayer antics to PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One on June 20th, 2023. The game will support crossplay across each of these platforms.
The game, which sees players compete to collect and drop off Wumpa fruit before the other team across a variety of maps, is available to pre-order as of right now, and will also have a Closed Beta running from April 20th – April 24th for anyone who pre-orders.
The Crash Team Rumble Closed Beta will run from April 20th – April 24th and feature five heroes and villains from the Crash universe alongside three unique arenas that are full of colour, danger, and surprising strategic advantages.
Fans who jump into the Closed Beta can play as Crash Bandicoot, Coco, Tawna, Neo Cortex and Dingodile – each equipped with their own unique powers and special moves.
In the Closed Beta, squads can select from three colourful and varied maps – each varying in size, layout, challenges, and Relic Stations that unlock unique powers to give teams the upper hand against their opponents.
In Crash Team Rumble, fans can play from a roster of friends and frenemies from the Crash universe, each of which fall into one of the three roles – Blocker, Booster, or Scorer. Teams strategically utilise the different roles to work together to be the first to bank the most Wumpa fruit in their drop-off zone, while simultaneously defending their opposing team’s drop zone. Unique Relic Powers bring an additional strategic element to the game, which squad mates can use to gain the upper hand when scoring, leading their team to victory. Crash Team Rumble features cross-platform play, allowing players across multiple consoles to squad up and jump into the competition.
