Dead Island 2 Is Finally Real And There’s A Launch Trailer To Prove It

Got me feeling HELL-A good.

After nearly a decade of waiting and multiple changes of hands, Dead Island 2 is finally an actual, real video game that’s coming out – and soon.

The gore-filled, zombie-slaying epic set in sunny and undead-infested Los Angeles (or HELL-A as it’s known here, also not an island) is coming out this Friday, April 21st on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC and it’s got a big, shiny Launch Trailer to prove it.

The two-minute video has everything you could ask for in a hype trailer. It’s got story, it’s got characters, it’s got zombies being punched so hard in the face that it caves in, it’s got electrified swords. Basically all the stuff you’d want to see in a Dead Island game. There are some hints at some of the twists and turns we might be able to expect from the game’s narrative, but mostly there’s eyeballs and viscera and stuff.

Check out the Dead Island 2 Launch Trailer below. Heads up – it’s gory.

We’ll have a review for you shortly, but our most recent thoughts on the game come from our lengthy hands-on preview where we said, “I leave this preview amazed that Dead Island 2 is so close and almost finished. I played it a long time ago, maybe even two development teams ago, and it’s encouraging to discover what it’s evolved into today. While I’ve some reservations about how much it will do to keep me interested across its story, when so much feels so similar to the original game, but Dead Island 2 is bound to appeal to fans of the original when it releases.”

Dead Island 2 releases on April 21st for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC.
