Here’s Luke Skywalker Training Star Wars Jedi Survivor’s Cal Kestis In The Art Of Motion Capture

"You get two lightsabers?!"

Respawn Entertainment’s highly-anticipated sequel, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, is out right now and EA is celebrating with a fantastic promo video starring Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hamill, alongside Cameron Monaghan, who plays Jedi: Survivor’s protagonist, Cal Kestis.

The tongue-in-cheek spot puts Hamill in the role of master and teacher in the ways of motion capture acting, and for Star Wars fans it’s probably the most endearing thing you’ll watch today (outside of the inevitable swarm of Turgle videos now that the game is out). Monaghan eventually gets to impart his own wisdom though, and even BD-1 makes an appearance!

Take a look at the “Jedi Coaching Sessions” trailer right here:

Playing as a Jedi may look easy, but in Motion Capture Session 386, Mark Hamill pops in to offer actor Cameron Monaghan some advice on his role as Jedi Cal Kestis in STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor. Wise words and questionable training methods from Mark will hopefully give Cameron the edge he needs as he continues his journey from STAR WARS Jedi: Fallen Order™.

The story of Cal, Merrin, Greez, and Cere continues in STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor, an epic new adventure that will push Cal further than ever as he fights to protect the ones he loves against a galaxy descending into darkness at the height of the Empire’s power.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is out now on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC on April 28th. The cheapest copy is $84 at Amazon with free shipping.

In our review, we said, “Star Wars Jedi: Survivor sharpens combat and exploration to a fine point while delivering a story that goes all in on its characters and human drama. Some minor pacing issues can’t stop the game from achieving exciting new heights for the series, if you’re willing to let it take you there.”
