The Summer Game Fest Showcase premiered today, bringing with it a heap of new game reveals, trailers and exciting updates on a ton of games across a stacked show.
One of those was a brand-new look at the exciting upcoming sequel from Remedy, Alan Wake II – including an appearance from Sam Lake himself.
Lake spoke on stage about the game being Remedy’s first “survival horror” game, the 50/50 gameplay split between the titular Wake as well as newcomer Saga Anderson, who is in Bright Falls investigating a series of murders with her partner and discovers missing pages from Alan Wake’s horror writing that begin to come to life around her. As originally revealed, Lake confirms that players will be able to tackle the majority of the game between Alan and Saga in the order they choose.
