Street Fighter 6 Has Now Sold Over 2 Million Copies

Like a Blanka cheque

Update: Capcom has now announced that Street Fighter 6 has managed to crack the 2 million copies sold mark already, which is a pretty significant achievement for just over a month since release.

The official Street Fighter Twitter account shared the news and revealed that all players will receive a mystery “small token of our appreciation” in the game. The news comes hot on the heels of the announcement that Rashid of the Turbulent Wind, who first appeared in Street Fighter V, is making his debut in Street Fighter 6 on July 24th and will be available to players who own the Year 1 Character Pass or the Deluxe Edition or Ultimate Edition of Street Fighter 6.

Previously: Capcom is reporting that in just the first three days since launch, over 1 million players have already jumped into Street Fighter 6.

It’s a massive effort from the big, new entry in the series – Street Fighter 5 reportedly took three months to reach that same figure. Although the English one doesn’t mention it, the Capcom Japan tweet announcing the milestone has also revealed that the series as a whole has “exceeded 50 million” of what we presume are sales.

To celebrate this achievement, a special gift is awaiting players in the game, which is apparently a new profile title.

We gave Street Fighter 6 a huge 9/10 in our review, saying “Street Fighter 6 rights the wrongs of its past with multiple modes for every player and strong battle systems like no other. It invites new players into the fold with well implemented, simpler control schemes, without losing sight of the hardcore player. The World Tour mode won’t be for everyone, but Street Fighter 6 stands tall as one of the best fighters Capcom has made.”

Street Fighter 6 is out now on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Mightyape currently has the cheapest copy at $74 plus postage.
