Crash Team Rumble

Crash Team Rumble Will Be Free To Play This Weekend

No excuse not to have a Crash Bash at it

Activision and Toys For Bob have announced that Crash Team Rumble, the recent competitive multiplayer spin-off for everyone’s most people’s favourite anthropomorphic bandicoot is holding a special free weekend for anyone to jump in and give it a spin.

The free weekend is running from Saturday, August 12th until Monday, August 14th AEST when the game will be free to download across PlayStation and Xbox consoles – including cross-play. Trial players will have access to a “sample” of the game’s character, cosmetics and power, but will be participating in the same matchmaking as those who own the game, and can play as much as they want.

Any progress and unlocks earned during the trial will also carry over to the full game for those who decide they want to buy it and keep playing.

In our review, we praised the game’s core mechanics, saying “Crash Team Rumble is a surprisingly competent online multiplayer arena game that’s easy to get into and well-balanced, leading to some tense and exciting games,” while noting the overall lack of content and grindy battle pass progression.

For its part, Toys For Bob has been supporting the game nicely with new characters and powers, new maps and modes. For the game’s second “season” players will have access to a brand-new co-operative game option as well as a rotating selection of experimental modes available.

You can read up more on the free trial and the exciting updates coming to the game right here.

You can also grab the game at a discounted price of $33.71 on both the PlayStation Store and Xbox Store right now.

“Crash Team Rumble™ takes Crash Bandicoot™ in a brand new direction, placing the series’ iconic heroes and villains into a 4v4 team-based competition. Players will duke it out across diverse and dangerous maps as both teams race to be the first team to collect and bank enough Wumpa fruit to claim victory!”
