Cult Of The Lamb Is Celebrating Its Anniversary With A Don’t Starve Together Crossover

Ready your survival chops.

It’s hard to believe but Cult of the Lamb, the smash hit from Australia’s own Massive Monster, has already been out a whole year. In that time, it’s garnered critical acclaim, commercial success and a huge fan following along with a bevy of updates and added free content along the way.

In order to mark the occasion, the folks at Massive Monster have joined forces with those at Don’t Starve Together developer Klei Entertainment for a special crossover that includes new content for both games. Players of Cult will get access to a new survival-sim-style Penitence Mode along with a new Webber follower form and new decorations based on Klei’s title, while Don’t Starve Together players will benefit from new items to be found and earned in-game based (naturally) on motifs found in Cult of the Lamb.

Both updates are available right now and you can hype yourself up for a good time with the trailer below, before grabbing either or both games at a discount on your digital storefront of choice:

We gave Cult of the Lamb a healthy 8/10 in our review when it launched in August last year, saying “Ultimately, I think Cult of the Lamb is a great example of flipping the power fantasy concept on its head, framing that thrilling pursuit of all-conquering omnipotence through the eyes of a once-hapless lamb is a stroke of genius. The dissonance I felt between its colony simulation and dungeon-crawling halves is unfortunate, though it doesn’t keep said halves from being brilliant in their own right. You’re getting an exceptional roguelike hack-and-slasher and an adorably dark and dramatic settlement-builder that will test your moral compass more than once.”
