The Lord Of The Rings: Return To Moria Has Been Delayed On PS5

One less game in October, for some.

Developer Free Range Games and publisher North Beach Games have announced a very last-minute delay for the PlayStation 5 version of The Lords of the Rings: Return to Moria, the upcoming survival crafting game set in the iconic fantasy world created by J.R.R. Tolkien, which launches next week on October 24th – albeit now only on PC.

The PS5 version of the game has been delayed to December 5th to allow for extra time to have the game release-ready, with the message to social media reading:

“The PlayStation 5 version of The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria will now launch both digitally and physically at retail on December 5, 2023.

“We are taking this additional time to improve various aspects of the PS5 version, and to ensure we can deliver the highest possible quality for PlayStation gamers. Our teams apologize for the delay and are fully committed to delivering an amazing experience on PS5 this December.

“We greatly appreciate your ongoing support and patience!”

Return to Moria is survival crafting adventure set in the Fourth Age of Middle-earth, where players take control of a company of Dwarves tasked to reclaim the lost spoils from their Dwarven homeland.

It’s set in a procedurally-generated realm of Moria, so no two adventures will be alike, and players can go solo or play online with companion as they mine to craft new gear and resources while trying not to awaken the dangers in the depths below.

The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria is still launching for PC on October 24th, and now both physically and digitally for PS5 on December 5th. A version for Xbox Series X|S is set to appear at some point next year.
