PlayStation has brought back its iconic UEFA Champions League ad spot for another round, this time with the return of some characters from its last ad along with some new ones.
The video shows legendary PlayStation characters like Joel and Ellie from The Last of Us, God of War’s Kratos and Atreus, Astro Bot and both Peter Parker and Miles Morales from Insomniac’s Marvel’s Spider-Man franchise all attending a packed football stadium and having a literal ball. Well, except for the Spider-Men who just can’t catch a break and have a good time without needing to save the day.
The ad is meant to highlight the “unpredictable and extraordinary drama of the beautiful game” and of course PlayStation’s sponsorship of the UEFA Champions League, but realistically is just a bit of silly fun with CG PlayStation Studios icons superimposed into real-life footage.
