Stellar Blade Has Officially Gone Gold

Can't wait!

Developer SHIFT UP has announced that its upcoming, PS5-exclusive single-player AAA action title, Stellar Blade, has officially gone “gold,” meaning the game is now feature and content complete, ready to press to discs and send to digital storefront servers around the world, with plenty of time for the studio to tighten and polish the game between now and launch.

“We’re a little late with this post,” the tweet announcing the news reads, accompanied by a picture of the sizeable development team and the words “GONE GOLD.”

The studio also recently revealed that the game will not feature any paid microtransactions at launch, and will receive free post-launch updates including a New Game+ mode and new costumes.

“We want to make it clear at this point that Stellar Blade will not require any additional expenses that gamers are not aware of beyond what they paid for the package,” general director Hyeong-tae Kim confirmed at the time. “The only exception is if we create collaboration costumes with another company’s IP, those may be sold for a fee. Also, there is no New Game+ in the launch version, so please look forward to it being updated very soon.”

Stellar Blade launches on April 26th exclusively for PS5. A free playable demo is available now that allows players to sample the first stage of the game, with progress carrying over to the full release. You can pre-order the game now on Amazon at a discounted price of $109 with free release day delivery.
