Take-Two had its investor meeting this morning and it confirmed that Grand Theft Auto 6 was still on track to release in Spring of this year. It also confirmed that Borderlands 4 is on track to release this year too.
IGN had the chance to talk to CEO Strauss Zelnik ahead of the presentation who said that he was fairly confident the game would hit its 2025 release window: “Look, there’s always a risk of slippage and I think as soon as you say words like absolutely, you jinx things … So we feel really good about it.” said Zelnik
“We know that Rockstar seeks perfection. I never claim success before it occurs. I’m fond of saying arrogance is the enemy of continued success, so we’re all running scared and looking over our shoulders and we know that the competition is not asleep. Our whole organization is super excited.” continued Zelnik.
It’s been over a year since we saw Grand Theft Auto 6 revealed with no other trailer or information released since which isn’t super unusual for Rockstar, but no doubt has people a little bit nervous, but it does still seem to be on track for this year which is super exciting.
Grand Theft Auto 6 is set to release on PS5/Xbox Series X|S and is still set for release at some point in 2025.
